Thomas Allain is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Gainesville, Florida, making what he calls "sentimental indie folk rock." His music channels the angst and longing of the current moment through a sound that is equal parts intimate and driving, rooted in confessional lyricism, warm vocal melodies, and the kind of emotional precision that stays with you.
His debut album, Words I've Learned to Say was produced by Dan Hannon (Manchester Orchestra, Julien Baker, Paris Jackson) and recorded at Ivy Manor Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, a city with a musical legacy few places on earth can match. The sessions were built around live "band in a room" performances, prioritizing feel and immediacy over polish. The first single, "Footprints in the Stone," co-written with Jordan Burchel and out now, sets the tone: reflective, human, and quietly urgent. A release date for the full album is forthcoming.
Before recording under his own name, Thomas fronted The Late Night Losers and toured as a member of Cat Ridgeway & The Tourists. He has appeared at the 30A Songwriters Festival in both 2024 and 2026, Tom Petty Weekend 2024, and occasionally performs keyboards with Gainesville/NYC indie soul band PRIZILLA, making him a live presence equally at home in an intimate listening room or on a festival stage.
Drawing from the rhythmic sophistication of Stevie Wonder, the confessional songwriting of Benjamin Gibbard, and the melodic warmth of Theo Katzman, Thomas Allain makes music about where we come from and how, slowly and honestly, we move forward.
